The Pope Who Led With Love
Today, we lost Pope Francis. But we didn’t lose his message.
If courage is contagious, Pope Francis was a pandemic of compassion. He challenged us not to tolerate one another, but to see each other as fellow human beings. He embraced the poor, protected refugees, welcomed LGBTQ+ communities, and reminded the world that faith without love is just noise.
He washed the feet of prisoners. He listened more than he lectured. He led not from a throne, but from the streets.
This wasn’t performative. This was transformative.
At L.O.V.E. is The Answer, we believe that Learn (about people), Open (your heart to their needs, Volunteer (to be part of the solution in their lives), and Empower (others to do the same) are more than principles—they are practices. And Pope Francis embodied them with fearless humility.
So, today, we don’t mourn. We mobilize.
We carry his light forward; not with sorrow, but with purpose. We manifest his mission by making room for each other’s stories, especially the hard ones. Because as he showed us again and again:
The revolution begins with love.
